Modern cardboard puzzles often use offset printing with vibrant, high-resolution images. Wooden puzzles may have slightly muted colors due to the printing process on wood grain.

Wooden puzzles outlast cardboard puzzles by decades when properly stored. They resist warping, can be assembled repeatedly without piece wear.
